Mexican Independence

This year we achieve 200 years of being free. We have shown that we don’t need to be rule by another country like before when the Spanish colonies rule us. It all starts with Miguel Hidalgo that one night he decided to face Spanish people. So we thank him because without him we could be under Spanish power right now. We should celebrate this 16 of September like any other, because we achieve 200 years!

In 1810 Miguel Hidalgo start war versus Spanish people, this war lasted 10 years. 10 years of suffering and when it all finished Mexico was free and could rule themselves, every 16 of September Mexican people celebrate and remember this day with parties and Mexican stuff, like sombreros, flags, etc.

When we reach the bicentenary, it will be great. Celebrities will be put to celebrate and will send messages telling us that they are proud of being Mexican. Then the Palacio Nacional will make some stuff to make people remember the past and all that Miguel Hidalgo did, all Mexico will be light up and celebrate with one night, 200 years of hard work and wars for our liberty.

The “Torre Bicentenario” is a construction that has been proposed for construction in Mexico City in 2010. It has a height of 300 meters (984 feet) and it would be the tallest skycraper in all Latin America. It would have 70 floors and it would have an extimated cost of $600 million.
