The chorus reveals Admetus’s good moral values, as they speak the lines, “In good men all good qualities are found: I truly marvel at his wisdom.” The Chorus implies Admetus good values, and admiration of his change of good character towards his wife. From the commitment of proper burial that Admetus puts towards his wife, which is appreciated by the Chorus. The lines indicate the true identity of Admetus, as well as his good actions from a change of being self-centered to a virtuous person of self-respect. The Chorus shows great respect towards Alcestis, as well as his suitable insight.

The quote spoken by the Chorus is reflected to Admetus, the king, from his predestination to die, but the king prevents this due to his alliance with Apollo. Admetus is given the chance to find a replacement. The Chorus speaks with kind words towards to Admetus in this scene. After his wife, Alcestis, volunteers for the position claiming that she cannot imagine life without her husband. This is the reason spoken by the Chrorus, “In good men all good qualities are found: I truly marvel at his wisdom.” In the beginning Admedtus is seen as self centered, preferring his wife to sacrifice herself. Instead after Alcestis sacrifices her life. The chorus knows about the pain Admetus deals with when he discovers reality, and the loss of his wife. The chorus sees this honesty and noble character of Admetus and great admiration is put on him as they call him marvelous in his wisdom, for acting kind and respectful towards his wife Alcestis.
