Critical Reading and Annotation

1. The story was mainly about a painter woman named Georgia O’Keeffe that at the time she was trying to express herself in the way of painting in the 1900s. She got a lot of problems because it was the time where the women were repressed by the man, but she fights to get what she wanted no matter what other people told her. Also, it tells about how she has the way to touch the person’s hearts; and that was with her painting flowers. At the end the author tell us a short summary about O’Keeffe life and how she was getting the interest in the art of painting.

2. The author’s main point was to show the unique of her work; because it was just amazing what he does in her paints. Also, to show her life and all the amazing things what she did for the love of paint.

3. I can relate this story in the way that I never give up no matter what the life puts on front of me I would do anything to accomplished what I want; but only with one exception no harm anybody in the way.

4. This essay had engaging detail on it for example in p. 857. O’Keeffe Said: “I made you take time to look at what I saw and when you took time to really notice my flower you hung all your associations with flowers on my flower and you write about my flower as if I think and see what you think and see – and I don’t.”

5. Dreary - Dismal; bleak.

7. One personal reaction I get from this story was that she expresses herself no matter what others said to her just like me. I do what I have to do no matters the words or actions that others do to prevent it.
