SALES

The sales function is headed by a vice president of the department, which has primary responsibility for directing the sales force and in some cases also make some sales of the company.

As the company expands, the greater the need for market research, advertising, and customer service in a more continuous and expert system.

 The sales department is in charge of making the following activities:

• Develop sales forecasts

• Set Prices

• Carry out advertising and sales promotion

• Wear proper monitoring and analysis of sales.

Among the measures of control to perform sales operations we have:

- The sales department must maintain a direct relationship with the store to have sufficient inventory to meet demand.

- Sellers should have a close relationship with the credit department to avoid selling to customers in arrears, meet credit lines as well as the balance of each client.

[pic 4]- There should be no preferences among customers in terms of deadlines, discounts, unless they are authorized by the general management.As you can see the sales department plays a major role in the success of the company, so be clear about their will be very helpful when making sales planning functions of the company.

OBJECTIVES.

Sales targets are defined by themselves, in the sense that it represents projected goods or services to be sold levels. Setting sales targets is essential because it gives a general orientation marketing plan.

All that is then merged into it aims to achieve the objectives: calculate the size of the target market and establish marketing objectives, determine the budget for advertising and promotion, recruitment of marketing and sales, choose the number and the kinds of stores and distribution channels to be used, and what is more important, the amount of product produced or to be maintained in inventory resources.

Seller figure

The seller is the most important element of personal sales because it allows a direct, personal communication with customers and prospects of the company, and also because it has the power to close the sale and to generate and cultivate personal relationships and short long-term customer. Therefore, every marketer and staff involved with the sales should know what the definition of vendor-but from different perspectives to have a more complete picture of the basic function performed by the seller and its reason for being in the company.
