Global warming, if you are not sure what that means, it is a phenomenon in which weather patterns and temperatures are changing rapidly and unpredictably, on a global scale.

Climate change is causing a cascade of negative effects on the environment human society and nature. For example, extreme weather events are happening with more frequency and severity such as droughts, floods and hurricanes.

Each year scientist learn more about how climate change affecting the planet and our communities, and most agree that consequences are likely to occur if current trends continue. The United States Global Change Research Program (which includes the department of defense, NASA, National Science Foundation and other government agencies) has said that global warming is unequivocal primarily human induced and is for that the human health is decreasing for the climate changes.

The global warming is caused for the CO2, Carbon Dioxide, and other air pollution that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun’s heat and causing the planet warm up.

Our water resources, energy supply, transportation, agriculture and ecosystems have been impacted for the climate change. Also, it possesses unique challenges to human health such as:

• Increases in the risk of illness and death related to extreme heat and heat waves are very likely.

• Some diseases transmitted by food, water and insects are expected to increase.

Significant costs to our families and the economy will be resulted of these impacts.

The climate changes are like hockey stick how is showed in the Fig. 2 because it shows that temperatures in the 20th century are higher than at any point in the last 1000 years. This simile was done by Michael Mann, who was a professor in University of Virginia.

Experts think the trend is accelerating. The 10 hottest years on record have all occurred since 1990. Scientist say that unless we curb global warming emissions, averages U.S.A. temperatures could be 3 to 9 degrees higher by the end century.

The global warming is affecting the planet are likely to occur if current trends continue. Among these:

• Melting glaciers, early snowmelt and severe droughts will cause more dramatic water shortages in the American West.

• Rising sea levels will lead to coastal flooding on the Eastern seaboard in Florida, and in other areas, such as the Golf of Mexico.

The United States is the largest source of global warming pollution, though Americans make up just 4 percent of the world’s population, they produce 25% of the CO2 pollution from fossil-fuel burning. In fact, the United States emits more CO2 than China, India, and Japan combined.
