This work illustrates the steps of mathematical design, manufacturing and testing of a laboratory model of micro hydro turbine portátil.Los results of hydraulic model tests in a tilting glazed canal concluded that: this kind of micro turbines is slow; introduction into the flow of a channel can produce a hydraulic jump downstream and a curved stagnation upstream whose dimensions depend on the conditions of flow, channel dimensions and the size of the rotor submerged, the formation of this ridge can disturbing that regime turbine operation; geometry and position of the rotor blades very significantly affects the performance values of the micro turbine. This paper presents the description of the different stages of a project in 1993 and carried out by staff of the Department of Hydraulics and Hydraulic Machines Hydraulic Department of the National University of San Juan, Argentina between 1993 and 1996 that was aimed to design a micro hydro turbine model that would evaluate the performance of different configurations of rotor blades and flow to design a micro hydro turbine and the transfer of knowledge to the private sector.

The research focused on the study of hidrodarrieus rotors (2). A major concern during the design of these turbines is the study of the dynamic cyclic loading receiving blades during their rotation around the rotor axis. Such loads are a function of flow rate, speed of rotation of the turbine and the
