Metacognitive Activity - Dialogue

Everyday situation: School Activities

Dialogue Description: Students are having a conversation about the exam and their plans for the next weekend.

Performance Guideline:

*Use of First Conditional grammar structure with Modal Verbs.

*Context of everyday situation of cause and effect.

Omar: Hey guys, are you ok?

Jair: Yeah, I´m fine, I´m just worried about the next test. If I don´t study for the math exam, I think I may fail it.

Jerson: Dude! It will be easy. You always pay attention! Besides, we will have a test today for practice.  Might we go to the library If you don´t fail it? I need some help to study and review my notes.

Omar: No problem! If you study hard, you will get good grades.

-After the exam-

Carlos: How was the exam? I saw you guys were studying hard. I got some problems with the last activity. It was really difficult for me.

Jair: Really? I did a very good job! I´m sure I´ll pass it with B+.

Jose: Ugh! You always get good grades. I´m such a mess. Did you complete the portfolio activities?

Jair: Mmm… not all of them. I got forty five points at the portfolio.

Jorge:  Guys, you better get permission to go out. Lucy invited us to celebrate her birthday and you know I really like her. May we go to her party next weekend if you pass the exam?

Benito: Hahaha, don´t worry, we´ll be there. But I don´t have a car. What do you think Jose? Can we use your car if we go to the party?

Jose: Yeah… maybe. I´ll ask my parents, dude. I hope they don´t get mad at me. I think I won´t pass the semester.

Jorge: What?! No, you´ll be fine. Most of my answers were correct and you copied my exam hahaha so we better start making plans. We might go in your car, right? Can I invite a friend?

Jose: Sure!
