As Boudica's huge Army of angry Britons marched towards(hacia) Camulodunum, the Romans sent messages to Decianus, begging for reinforcements(pidiendo refuerzos). He sent only 200 soldiers. As the rebels (rebeldes)arrived, the Romans fled to the temple (los romanos huyeron al templo), hoping its strength would keep the Britons out until help arrived(esperando a que su fuerza mantuviera a los británicos fuera hasta que llegara la ayuda). The rebels swarmed through the town(Los rebeldes invadieron la ciudad), destroying everything and everyone in their path(camino). They then lay siege to the temple and destroyed it within two days, massacring everyone inside and then setting fire to the town.(luego, fueron al templo y lo destruyeron a los dos días, masacrando a todos dentro y luego prendieron fuego a la ciudad.)

Meanwhile, a goodly part of the Ninth Legion, under Petilius Cerialis, was marching to relieve the siege of Camulodunum(Mientras tanto, una buena parte de la Novena Legión, bajo Petilio Cerialis, marchaba para aliviar el asedio de Camulodunum). They were too late and were met by Boudica's Army, heady with success, who overwhelmed the Legion and massacred the infantry (foot soldiers). (Era demasiado tarde y fueron encontrados por el Ejército de Boudicca, impetuosos, con éxito, que abrumó a la Legión y masacraron a la infantería (soldados de a pie)).Only Cerialis and his cavalry managed to escape(Sólo Cerialis y su caballería logró escapar).

The victorious rebel Army now turned its attentions to Londinium (London) a busy and important centre for trade(centro para el comercio).

When he heard the news of Boudica's rebellion, Seutonius Paulinus rushed back to the South East(se apresuró a regresar a la región del sudeste) with his cavalry(caballeria). As he approached (acercaba)Londinium (London), however, he realised that the scale of the rebellion was much larger than he had thought and Londinium was not easily defended by his small force.(sin embargo, se dio cuenta de que la escala de la rebelión era mucho más grande de lo que había pensado y Londinium no fue defendido fácilmente por su pequeña fuerza.)

So he ordered Londinium to be evacuated while he withdrew, with all the able-bodied men he could find, and sent orders for all nearby Roman forces to join him.(se retiró, con todos los hombres aptos para el trabajo que pudo encontrar, y envió órdenes para que todas las fuerzas romanas cercanas a reunirse con él.)

Many people fled(huyeron) Londinium, as the huge rebel Army approached(acercaba), but many remained(quedaron) and they were all massacred by Boudica's soldiers who then razed the town to the ground (evidence still remains of the huge fire that burnt all before it).

Heady with success, the rebel Army turned north and subjected those who had not fled from Verulamium (St. Albans), and the town itself, to the same treatment.

It is believed that 80,000(eighty thousand) men, women and children died in the sacking of these three towns.

By now, Seutonius had collected an Army of about 10,000 (ten thousand) men and he searched for an area that would give him an advantage in battle. He chose a hillside (which meant that Boudica's forces would have to fight uphill) which was backed by forest (making it extremely difficult for the enemy to encircle him - very important since his army was greatly outnumbered).

It is believed that this battlefield may have been somewhere in the Midlands, near a Roman road.

Boudica's Army outnumbered the Romans, possibly by 10 times. As they travelled northwards, they collected huge numbers of wagons, not only of supplies, but also of families who had come to see the victory over the Roman invaders. Once at the battle site, Boudica rallied the Britons, describing Roman outrages and ending, "If you weigh well the strength of the armies ... you will see that
