Meet with a Professor

Last week, I met with my pre-calculus professor, Gen Tautaro, where not only did she help me with completing my homework, but we also spoke to each other about the challenges of the class. We also spoke about what she recommended me to do in order to succeed in her math class. I chose this faculty member because I seem to be struggling in her class despite the fact that I have already taken pre-calculus before. The pre-calculus text book at ASU is very different than the one I used in high school and the overall class is taught differently. In order for me to do well and succeed the class with a good grade, she advised me to attend the tutoring center at least once a week to improve my math skills. Without visiting her I would have never found out about the tutoring center or gotten information on it. Another thing she advised me to do was to do the online practice problems that she posts before test. Little did I know that she takes some of the test problems from the online practice problems. Last Friday, I took her advice and went to the tutoring center. Not only were they able to help me with my homework, but they were also there to help me study for my upcoming test.

Overall, meeting with my math professor was very helpful to complete my success on the class. I learned a lot of things that I would not have learned without visiting her and I feel overall more comfortable approaching her.
