Ashley: Hi, Jane. How are you today?

Jane: Not so well. My head hurts, my throat is swollen, and I think I have a temperature.

Ashley: Poor thing! Have you called the doctor?

Jane: No, my mom gave me some Tylenol and told me to wait to see if that helped first. But it hasn't.

Ashley: I wonder what's wrong with you! Does your stomach hurt too?

Jane: No.

Ashley: Well, then, we know that it's not food poisioning!

Jane: I have been so sick that I haven't eaten anything. So, it can't be that!

Ashley: But, it could be a cold or the flu. Are you having any problems breathing, or do you have any mucus in your chest? Any sneezing or runny nose?

Jane: No problems breathing or mucus in my chest. No sneezing, and no runny nose; I have had a lot of post nasal drip though. And, the glands in my neck are really sore!

Ashley: Let me see your throat! Say "Aaahh!".

Jane: Aaahh!

Ashley: Your tonsils are really, really red and swollen. There are white spots all over them! I think that you may have strep throat. That's what my throat looked like when I had it. You should go see a doctor soon. She will probably prescribe antibiotics to you. If you don't get it taken care of quickly, it could lead to rheumatic fever.

Jane: Thanks Ashley!

Ashley: No problem, friend. I hope that you feel better soon!
