What Am I?
By Kathleen W. Redman
I have some ribs, And I have a back. I'm usually brown, With a little black.
I'm very tall
And made of wood.
Can you guess what I am? Do you think you could?
I have a bridge For all to see,
But not one car Will drive on me.
I have four strings
Played with a bow.
Can you guess what I am? Do you think you know?
From very fine wood And the hair of a horse They make a bow
Just for me, of course!
I'm bigger than a violin, And smaller than a bass, Can you guess what I am? Do you know my place?
My voice is low.
My song is sweet. Listening to me
Is quite a treat.
Listen to the music,
So sweet and mellow. You will hear my song. I am the cello.
