according to the film "The player" there are several images that describes the cultural context of the american hollywood life style. some of them have being exagerated to achive a satiric way of critizing this world of hollywood movie making.

first of all one image that I found considerable is the way they show the posters of films all the way the film. I found it interesting in the way the names of the films are ralated on what it is happening at the moment of the story. one case is when mill recive one of the threat postcard, the poster shown at the moment is of the flm "highly dangerous. Another case is when the detective come to visit Mill to interrogate him about the murder of Kahanes. at this moment the poster shown are from the films "Prision Break" ,"PrIsion Shadows" and "murder in the big haus".

another example is when Mill talks about his plan of letting larry to get in charge of the new film production, that according Mill will ruin Mill. at this moment the posters shown is from the film "a hollywood Sttory".

all this images are highlighted by the zoom of the camara in into the posters either at the beginnig or at the end of a scene.

Another image that I found interesting when Mill take the green drops, this happens every time that mills feels in danger or threatened, for instance every time that he recives the postcards, he takes a cople of this drops,

in this aspect, I compared with the film "breathless" , in this two movies the main character are constatly under stress, both characters Mills and Michel react cold and imapssible, nevertheless I found interesting the permanet use of cigarretes by michel, while Mill never smoke one in the hole film, I found the green drops were used instead.

In generall the use of cigarretes wasent a characteristic from this context. this refers that smoking doesent have a connotation of power or elegance in the high class of hollywood, like it do
