The teaching of pronunciation in Secondary School

This essay talks about of problematic observed in practices of 6to semester in the subject OPD 4. Texts talk about the important of pronunciation of words in secondary school, if is necessary have a good pronunciation or not have also know student´s problematic, as the context, native language, knowledge of English teacher, if the knowledge is contextualize and give solutions to elevate the level of English in secondary school.

“The teaching of pronunciation in Secondary School”

Is really important the pronunciation of words and sentences in secondary school because students need communicate in social contexts with the correct pronunciation. But in English and in other language exit a lot problem to acquire the language for example: pronunciation, stress and unstressed syllables, grammatical structures, rhythms of the language, native language etc. English pronounced with such a rhythms would probably not be understood, the speaker of English might produce a line of soldiers of very much the same size and following. (American English Pronunciation)., the rhythm of language and others language is different. Pronunciation in secondary is difficult to acquire because exist a lot problematic in process of knowledge to each student. As teachers are really important to know about problem´s students they have to pronunciation of the language, but teacher need to know if the pronunciation is important for have a good level of English, or if the student don’t have a good pronunciation of the language and it is communicate principal ideas with a low pronunciation, teacher need to paid attention to elevate the lever of English.

But other problem to acquire English and the correct pronunciation is the student´s context, for example in observations and practices in secondary school no 18, the context is difficult to learn and teach, level of English is low also because teachers don´t have the level to give a class then is really important be prepare, have knowledge about the subject.

Student´s pronunciation is really bad in school, observed and practice in secondary as English teacher, the observation for students in the language is low, some cases is different, sometimes students don´t know anything, students don´t know basic vocabulary and pronunciation is bad, but when they listen the correct pronunciation and repeat after teacher, the students have the correct pronunciation.

Only when students listen the words and sentence´s pronunciation, it is correct in students. So is really important as teacher have the knowledge to students acquire English pronunciation in a correct way. Teach is really difficult to do, but when you listen a good pronunciation in your students and they communicate is really important to continue be teacher.

In conclusion teaching pronunciation in secondary school is difficult because native language of students all time is present in
