The author starts talking about biologist called Linda Kerley and her experience with an important discovery. She had found a carcass at the Russia’s Lazovskii State Nature Reserve and she thought that was weird because there weren’t any large predator’s signs near to the deer. However, she answered her questions after she came back to her camp and watched a video that worked 2 weeks ago. She saw how a golden eagle attacked behind deer's back with its strong wings splayed.

According to Kerley, golden eagles have enough strength for being able to attack by this way. In one hand, they have a huge height, speed, and distinctive hunting techniques. Last but not least, they were considered as elegant and royal as kings throughout history. On the other hand, their abilities were used for preying small and bigger sized animals. Therefore, ranchers killed them in order to believe that eagles were depleting their livestock. The government took care about this situation and gave them a special protection from hunters.

Another problem is the situation of their habitat. Eagles need natural environment for developing their behavior but urbanization causes a lot of issues that they cannot live there.

In summary, according to Jim Watson, “for preserving our wildlife, we have to understand animals’ behavior and how it would develop in the ecosystem”.
