Definition:

A fire is an uncontrolled fire occurrence that can sear something that is not intended to burn.

It can affect structures and living beings. The exposure of living beings to a fire can cause severe damage to death, usually by inhalation of smoke or fading caused by intoxication and serious burns.

Classification of Fires:

Class "A": Are the fires that need solid organic materials, which may be formed, coals, for example, wood, paper, rubber, plastics and textiles.

Class "B" Are the fires that need meltable liquid, for example, ethane, methane, gasoline,

Class "C" Are the fires that need appliances, switches, fuse boxes and electrical equipment

Real Case:

Boston’s Cocoanut Grove Ablaze ---ABAJO VIENE EN ESPAÑOL =)

There was a tremendous crowd at Boston´s Cocoanut Grove nightclub.

On November 28, 1942, the club held twice it legal capacity of 500 people. The United States was involved in Word War II and the Cocoanut Grove was crowded with soldiers ready to sail for Europe, and with sailors from Boston’s big naval base. Other patrons were celebrating that afternoon’s football game between Holy Cross and Boston Collage. Warplan, workers, their pockets bulging with overtime pay, rounded out the crowd.

The Cocoanut Grove, as ist name suggests, was decorated to look like a South Seas paradise with bamboo and palm trees swaying under blue tropical skies. The South Seas glamour was, unfortunately, all flammable paper and cloth. The blue skies were blue satin cloth, the bamboo was made of paper, and the palm trees placed near every table and chair were also paper.

On that fateful night, one of the guests wanted the room known as the Melody Lounge to be even darker and unscrewed a light bulb from the ceiling. Stanley Tomaszewski was a 16 year old busboy at the Cocoanut Grove. His job was to clear tables of dirty glasses and plates. When a bartender saw how dark the Melody Lounge was, he ordered the busboy to replace the missing bulb.
