List of animals that hibernate

Animals hibernate during the cold weather months . Hibernation starts before the climate change , because the animals need more food than usual to prepare for the long road ahead . Hibernation , simply, is the way the animals to climate change around fit . There are several species that hibernate and all uniquely do about their species.

badgers

Commonly known as hibernators badgers . However, they differ slightly from other animals that hibernate and only temporarily. The Badgers temperature drops slightly during hibernation and wake up several times during the winter , making them different from the true hibernators .

bats

Some bats , but not all hibernate. Mouth hanging down in dark places such as caves and old mines , often in groups. Hibernate when the temperature of the bat is lowered until it is in relation to the outdoor temperature.

Squirrels , chipmunks and prairie dogs

These three animals are very active during the day , collecting food for storage in underground burrows at night and during hibernation. These three species hibernate for about half the year , sleeping in the cold.

Bears

Many books do not classify the bears as true hibernators . This is because they are similar to badgers , skunks , raccoons and squirrels hibernate in their ways . Bears are sleeping and awake time and even a little active during the day .

Cold-blooded hibernators

The cold-blooded hibernators include bees, earthworms, lizards and snakes. These hibernating species based mainly on the climate. If too cold, dig down to get to the core of the warm earth . If too hot , try to get away from the oppressive heat . Bees tend to be active only for a couple of months, as most of the time sitting on the ground as larvae .
