Polluting Compounds:

At the present exist a significant deterioration of the environment, caused mostly by human activity, where industries are paramount in this area due to the elimination of substances which affect the air, soil and water.

Some Compounds that affect the environment are:

Carbon Monoxide (CO): is an odorless and colorless gas. When inhaled, the molecules enter the bloodstream, where they inhibit oxygen distribution. At low concentrations produce dizziness, headache and fatigue, while at higher concentrations can be fatal. Carbon monoxide is produced as a result of incomplete combustion of carbon-based fuels, such as gasoline, oil and wood, and natural and synthetic products, such as cigarette smoke.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is the main cause of the greenhouse effect. It originates from the combustion of coal, petroleum and natural gas. Inhalation is toxic if found in high concentrations, can cause increased breathing, fainting, and even death.

Ozone (CO3): at ground level, ozone is a highly toxic pollutant affecting the health, environment, crops and a wide variety of natural and synthetic materials. In terms of environment, it is harmful to trees and reduces visibility. The ozone that is situated to level of the ground comes from the decomposition (oxidation) of the organic volatile compounds of the solvents, from the reactions between chemical resultant substances of the combustion of the coal, petrol and other fuels and from the substances components of the paintings and spray for the hair.
