Bulimia is an eating disorder that is affecting a lot of teenage girls in the world. Bulimia also called bulimia nervosa is a psychological eating disorder bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge-eating followed by the inappropriate methods of weight control (purging). Bulimia is a problem that is happening a lot lately in these years, bulimia is having a compulsion for eating or not eating at all and that can affect you in a physical and mentally. Bulimia is caused by a lot of things but the main things that affect teenage minds is society and its stereotypes because teenagers they might want to look perfect in the outside but meanwhile they are affecting their inside. “Anorexia, you starve yourself. Bulimia, you binge and purge. You eat huge amounts of food until you're sick and then you throw up. And anorexia, you just deny yourself. It's about control.” (Gold, 190)

Bulimia is not a safe way to lose weight you are affecting your body and you will also affect your family, you do not always have to look perfect to be happy, your body does not have to look like a model you are perfect the way you are they might be some days that you feel bad about yourself but that is not only happening to you, it happens to a lot of people.

Usually, what causes a person to become bulimic is different for everyone; it could be as simple as uncontrollable diet habits due to a person’s low self esteem. People do not just wake up one day and choose to be bulimic; it usually starts out with dieting (Gilbert 71).

Everybody was created in a different way everyone has characteristics that will make them unique that’s way you should not complain about your body. When people look in the mirror and do not like what they see it can start to lower their self esteem. People who have a low self esteem typically compare themselves to others and if they do not look the same as the other people their self esteem can continue to get low because they don’t feel comfortable with their own body.

Young girls already put enough pressure on themselves to be what they believe is beautiful and with pressure from others, it can push them over the edge to take drastic measures in order to fit in. Unfortunately, many teens struggle with their body image regardless of their size, and anorexia and bulimia are fairly common. Teenage boys may also face similar struggles, but it doesn’t always manifest itself in the same way. This eating disorder affects the teenage body in many so many ways, one of the principal areas affected by this is the digestive system, but is also affects the cardiovascular and the dental health, this disease also affects the potassium levels in the body and it can be easier for you to drug abuse. Bulimia is a dangerous disease because it has serious and deadly effects on your cardiovascular health like rapid heartbeats, irregular heartbeats, chest pains, breathing problems and even cardiac arrest, it can also affect the blood pressure causing you
