The city of Puerto Montt is the capital of the Los Lagos region of in
Chile, and is has the highest economic growth at a national level. It is
characterized by the sea (seno de Reloncaví) and its proximity to
natural and rural environments which are of particular attraction for
tourists, such as Calbuco and Osorno volcanoes, islands, bathing
areas and protected natural areas.
Today our city tour will focus on the west of Puerto Montt and we will
begin by:
Bus station: it’s a very important place because it connects Puerto
Montt with other cities in the country, and the routes are very difficult
due to its extensive territory, that’s why land transportation means
very important, especially here in the south of Chile.
Now we are going to cross the street and we’re going along Diego
Portales Avenue to visit…
Melipulli Village: it’s a very special place because it displays a mini
museum that illustrates part of the local history. Here, in the Melipulli
Village, you can enjoy the typical cuisine of the area and you can also
buy handicrafts and souvenirs of your visit to the city.
A few minutes away, we continue to walk down the street, knowing
part of the waterfront, where there are seafarers, the port, the travel
agencies and commercial premises. Soon we will reach ...do not get

Artesanías Angelmó: Consisting of several craft posts typical of the
area, it is a reflection of the rich culture and folklore of the area: a
harmony between land and sea represented in fabrics, carvings,
leather, vegetable fibbers, metals, algae, and semi beautiful stones,

representative of the city.
As we continue along Angelmó Avenue we will arrive at ... you will
have free time to go shopping and sightseeing.
Cocinerias Angelmó: It has more than 100 posts of typical cuisine
which use products from the land and sea that give rise to dishes
such as "curanto", "cancato", "paila marina", and "roast on a stick".
In addition, you will find products to be sold such as home-made
liquor, cheese, honey, fruits and vegetables, fish and seafood brought
from the surroundings of the city.
In front of us you can see Tenglo Island; from there we will take a
boat to take us there in a few minutes (security measures)
Tenglo Island: its natural beauty and proximity to the city make this
island one of the greatest attractions of the city. We will ascend to
the top, where there is a large cross that can be seen from anywhere
in the city. From here we have a panoramic view of the city and the
surrounding: sea, islands and volcanoes Osorno, Calbuco and
Puntiagudo.
Upon returning to the mainland, we will take transportation which will
take us to Chinquihue. Be sure to stay in yours seats for added
security. On the way we will observe Chinquihue Stadium, shipping
companies, university and fishing companies.
