Q2 Independent writing task

Question: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Childhood is the happiest time of a person’s life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion

There are several stages in the life of a person: the childhood, adolescence, adulthood and the elderly age, and each one of them has its own challenges and problems, happy and sad moments. However, many people, when asked for the happiest time of her or his life, choose the childhood. I strongly agree with the opinion that childhood is the happiest time of a person’s life for the following reasons.

In first place, children enjoy more their time because they don’t have heavy responsibilities on their shoulders. Their tasks in the school are still not so complicated as in adolescence or adulthood, so they have a lot of time to just relax, play and be children. Also at home the parents can’t delegate hard work for the little because they don’t have yet the abilities to do certain things, such as using electric machines for mowing the lawn or cooking. Definitely having only few homework and a couple chores at home helps kids to grow up in a positive environment and makes them happy.

Secondly children are able to try new thing without fear for failure. At this young age they are free to experiment with different ways of expression and find who they want to be later in life. For example, they could be interested in trying a new sport, enter an art class or learn how to play a new instrument. Besides children tend to have outgoing personalities, which helps them to get to know new people easily and make friends, even when the other person is not interested. A teenager or an adult could consider that trying new thing is a synonym of failure, but children do not, and that is the reason why all of these experiences provide valuable life lessons that help kids to strengthen their personality and develop their minds while being content.

Due to the different reasons cited above many people could consider that the early stages of their lives were the happiest. The majority agrees because of the fact that during this age they had barely any responsibility at home and at the school and they also had the opportunity to try new things without angst. My childhood was actually full of great moments and a lot of experiences that then helped me to develop as a person, so I could not agree more. In conclusion childhood is definitely a memorable stage of life, even when not the happiest for some people.
