GUAYAQUIL AND QUITO

Guayaquil is the capital of Guayas province, it is the most populate city in Ecuador, it has a tropical climate, and is known as the “Pacific Pearl”. It is the main port of Ecuador, thus, it is of great economic importance to the country. Guayaquil is located on the Pacific coast.

The gulf of Guayaquil, the river, the monuments, museums, parks are part of the attractions of this city. Santa Ana hill, this unique hill with its charming and colorful houses is located on the northern part of the city and the Malecon “el salado“ is smaller than malecon 2000.

Quito is the capital city of Ecuador because it is in the middle of the world. Quito is the second most populate city in Ecuador, after Guayaquil. It is also the capital of the Pichincha province. It is located in north-central Ecuador. The city is surrounded by the Cotopaxi volcano and Pichincha, Antizana, Cayambe volcanoes that make up the majestic Andean contour.

The more traditional dishes in Quito are pork´s fritada and the cuy with potatoes, yaguarlocro, sancocho and other traditional sweets. The traditional foods in Guayaquil are seafood like ceviches, Crabs, bollos, arroz con menestra and the others.

Guayaquil is the largest city than Quito. Quito is the highest city. Guayaquil´s climate is hottest than Quito´ climate. It is the coldest. In Guayaquil, the people wear shorts, shirts, skirts, sandals, shoes and In Quito, the people wear coat, pants, sweater, scarf, gloves, socks, and boots.

Quito is Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity, in Guayaquil exist the best dances but Quito has better tourist places and customs. Quito´s people are more sociable than Guayaquil. Guayaquil and Quito are most tourist cities. In Guayaquil there are the most beautiful beaches and Quito has the biggest parks and landscapes. The handicraft of Quito is more expensive than in Guayaquil. The handicraft of Guayaquil is the cheapest.

In conclusion I can say that the 2 cities are beautiful but each one has something that makes them special: Guayaquil by its beaches and their climate and Quito by its tourist places and landscapes.
