Los tiempos de futuro son aquellos tiempos que se utilizan para hablar de cosas que tendrán lugar en el futuro. Vamos a ver las formas de futuro de manera comparada.

¿A QUÉ HACEMOS REFERENCIA?

Existen varias formas de formar el futuro en inglés. Los siguientes ejemplos te muestran las tres formas más comunes.

Voy a visitar Lanzarote la próxima semana

I'm going to visit Lanzarote next week

Creo que iré a la Universidad en el futuro

I think I will go to University in the future.

Juego al tenis este fin de semana.

I'm playing tennis this weekend.

¿PARA QUÉ SIRVE?

GOING TO: Se utiliza para habar de planes en el futuro. Recuerda que normalmente se traduce como 'voy a + verbo principal'.

SUJETO + VERBO 'TO BE' + GOING TO + VERBO PRINCIPAL + RESTO DE FRASE

I'm going to visit Lanzarote next week.

She isn't going to visit Lanzarote next week.

Are they going to visit Lanzarote next week?

Podemos usarlo para hablar de algo que está a punto de ocurrir, basándote en algo muy evidente.

She is late. She is going to miss the bus.

I think I'll go to University in the future.

She thinks she won't go to University in the future.

Will you go to University in the future?

Podemos usarlo para hacer decisiones espontáneas, es decir, decisiones que tomamos rápidamente, sin planearlo.

The phone is ringing! Ok, I'll answer it.
