Present Continuous
Entre otros usos, el Present Continuous se utiliza para hablar sobre eventos o acciones que están ocurriendo en el ahora, en el momento en que se está hablando. Por ejemplo:
A: Where is your sister?
B: She is studying at her friend's house.
En ese pequeño diálogo, podemos ver que alguien pregunta “Dónde está tu hermana?”, y quien responde dice “está estudiando en la casa de su amiga”. Ese estudiando, que termina en -ando, es el present continuous. Lo que en nuestro idioma español termina en -ando o -endo (por ejemplo, cenando, durmiendo), en inglés terminaría en -ing (eating, working, etc.) Entonces, si la hermana de quien habla está estudiando (she is studying) lo está haciendo ahora, en el momento en que se habla.
Así vamos a ver que el Present Continuous se va a formar de la siguiente manera:
