Anne Frank's diary

It is known as one of the most emblematic literary works about the holocaust that occurred against the Jewish population, during the Second World War. Anne Frank is a Jewish girl who, during the Second World War, has to hide to escape the persecution of the Nazis. Along with seven other people, she remains hidden in the "back house" of the building located on the Prinsengracht canal n ° 263, in Amsterdam. After more than two years of being hidden, the hiding ones are discovered and deported to concentration camps. Of the eight hidden, only Ana's father, Otto Frank, survives the war.

After her death, Ana becomes world famous thanks to the diary she wrote during the time she was hidden. In this way this work presumes to correspond the diary of a Jewish girl of fourteen years, from the moment her family decided to hide in the secret annex, along with other characters, until they are discovered and taken to a concentration camp, where Ana He would finally die in 1945, just two months before the release of Berge-Belsen, the Dutch prison camp where he was appointed. According to the story revealed by the editors, Miep and Elli, real characters that Ana refers to in the Diary, were those who found Ana's little diary, in the remains that the Gestapo left after being searched in the annex, where this girl and her family managed to hide for two years.

It is pertinent, then, to make a brief summary of each one of the chapters of this literary work, which has become a true phenomenon in sales, during the last decades. It is necessary to emphasize that, when presented in the form of a personal diary, this literary work is not divided into chapters, but by dates. In this way, a summary of the events narrated in the Diary of Anne Frank is presented. The Diary began with Ana's story about what activities she developed on her 14th birthday, two years ago, where she received it as a gift. Start writing immediately before hiding. During the period in which she was hidden, Ana writes about what happens in the House of Back and about herself. The diary is a great support for Ana, who also writes short stories and collects quotes from writers in her "Book of Pretty Phrases."

When the Dutch education minister appeals - through the English radio - to keep the diaries written during the war, Ana decides to draw up the text of her diary to turn it into a novel she will call "The House of Back". Ana begins with the rewriting, but, before finishing, she is discovered together with the others hidden, and arrested.

Ana wrote in her diary that she wanted to be a writer or journalist, and that she wanted to publish her diary in the form of a novel. Friends of Otto convince this of the great eloquence of the newspaper. On June 25, the newspaper is published under the title "The House of Atrás", in a circulation of 3,000 copies. It would be followed by many reprints, translations, a theatrical piece and a movie.

People from all over the world take notice of the story of Anne Frank. During the following years, Otto Frank answers thousands of letters sent by people who have read his daughter's diary. In 1960, the Anne Frank House becomes a museum. Otto Frank remained linked to the Anne Frank Foundation and campaigned for human rights and respect among people until his death in 1980.
