OVERVIEW

This book was edited by Clare West.

It different authors have eight stories dealing with crime. Each of these stories has a reason why crime is committed, such as jealousy.

The book’s title is right, crime never pays.

PERSONAL OPINION

In my opinion, this book is very interesting. The truth is that I liked it, all stories have good arguments. But when I was reading it, I had some difficulty for his extensive vocabulary. But I also think it has been read to improve my English.

THE CASE FOR THE DEFENCE

Summary:

The story, which happens in a tribunal, was written by Graham Greene.

This story was told by a journalist. There is a man in this tribunal because he is suspicious of crime. This person was defended by a lawyer, who lies and changes the true to help the suspicious.

A GLOWING FUTURE

Summary:

This story was written by Ruth Rendell.

In this story, Maurice is married to Patricia, who lives in Australia. While her husband was on tour of Europe, he met many women, including Betsy. He shares floor with she. Betsy becomes jealous and tries to kill Maurice before he returns with his wife and wonderful future.

Summary:

Anyway, he considers himself more intelligent than any other people in the world.
