The book is about a detective, who is the most famous detective in London. Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson as they are trying to solve three mysteries. The first mystery is about a woman who is murdered, but the strange thing is that she is the only person in the room; Helen and Julia lived with the stepfather whose name is Dr. Grimesby Roylotts. The Roylott family was one of the richest in England. But all has changed, the last five leaders of the family were bad men.

The father of the girls had died just the year before Dr. Roylott had married with the girls’ mother. When she married she made a new will. She left the money to him, the will also said that Roylott must take care of Julia and Helen. Julia was only thirty when she died, Julia died by a snake that Dr. Roylott called with a whistle, the snake already bit Julia when Helen was in the bedroom. Helen saw how Julia died in her arms. Julia fainted and instantly she died.

The second mystery is about J. B. Wilson, it’s one of the strangest stories I have ever read. Mr. Wilson took a job that his friend Spaulding advised to him for a good helper who works for half pay to Redheaded League. They went to Fleet Street to get the job, Wilson got the job in the Redheaded League. He had to copy the Encyclopedia Britannica. When he went to the job all was ended. He found a card on the door and it said “The Redheaded League no longer exist”. October 9, 1890.

Mr. Wilson wanted to know what happened to the Redheaded League. Holms thought that John Clay, the little man who was Spaulding it was the same person, but The Redhead League was just a red hairing, all along.

The third and last mystery is about Mr. Peterson. It was four o’clock on Christmas morning. Peterson was walking home late. Peterson could see a man walking ahead of him in the gaslight. He was tall man. He carried a white goose over his shoulder. Just the group of criminals came in to the street. One of the toughs knocked off the tall man’s hat. The tall man tried to fight back with his stick. Instead. He broke the window behind him. Peterson rushed up to help the tall strange.

But at the sound of breaking glass, the man dropped the goose and ran. The group of criminal ran away, too. So Peterson was left with the goose and the hat. The tall man was Henry Baker, but there were thousands of people named Baker in London. Inside the goose was a lay shiny blue stone, it was so pure and bright that it twinkled like a star.
