Taj Mahal is a mausoleum which was built in Agra, India from 1630 to 1654 by mandate of the emperor Shah Jahan Muslim who was a prolific patron, with almost unlimited resources. This mausoleum was built in honor of his favorite wife Arjumand Bano Begum better known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to their tenth fourth daughter in 1631.

This is one of the most beautiful monuments of art Indo-Musulm of the mongol era. Construction began to be built by 1632, according to the drawings of a council of architecture from India, Persia and central Asia, although it seems that the real inspiration was the emperor himself. In this construction is said to have worked more than 20,000 workers. This project said that lasted for more than 22 years and cost at the time of fastest 40 million. The mausoleum is a mosque made in red sandstone, which constrata with the whiteness of the marble and has a height of 60 m. The construction material is the brick-lined white marble plates whose pitch is changed according to the light of the day, creating a subtle variation that produces a feeling of tranquility intangible. The geometric and floral, inlaid with lapis lazuli, coral, amber and jade, puts all the vain of the building. The emperor spent the rest of his days staring out the window to the Taj Mahal and, after his death in 1666, was his brother Aurangzeb who buried in the mausoleum next to his wife, generating the only break in the perfect symmetry of the whole. It is also said that after finishing this architectural masterpiece was the emperor who did what the workers were cut off the hands for ever saw another work as well.
