1.   Apple Inc. decides to make iTunes freely available in unlimited quantities.

a.  Does Apple’s decision change the incentives that people face? In what ways? Explain.

This Apple’s decision completely changes the incentives in some ways. In first place, all the users of an Apple product surely will begin to use iTunes as their primary music app and to download all their favorite music. As an other result of this decision to make iTunes freely, would be an incentive for all the people who hasn’t have an Apple product, to buy one, because it means that they can have all the music they want for free.

b.   Is Apple’s decision an example of a microeconomic or a macroeconomic issue?

This decision is a clear example of a microeconomic issue because it only affects the people who have a product of Apple, like an iPhone, iPad, or iWhatever, and an iTunes account, or the ones that are considering acquiring one of these products. It’s not a decision that impacts a global economy directly.
