White hat: no knowledge of hotel industry. Should have analyzed the study of the areas or environmental studies. Previews trends and data in other hotels in the area or similar hotels.

Red hat: link the hotel to the restaurant or brand reputation. Knowledge of the difference in costumers from the restaurant to the business hotel. It should be fast, simple and cheap instead of luxury hotel. The customer can be confused about the differences between the hotel and restaurants of the same brand.

Black hat: lack of hotel experience. Weak points: fast food restaurant in a business hotel. Low customer interaction, difficulties to hire new staff, bathroom design with transparent shower doors.

Yellow hat: brand new innovative idea, the company’s values are very positive and friendly. 24 hours restaurant (new in Switzerland).

Green hat: unique design, trying to attract business people in a creative way, the new beds and innovative technologies in room, self check in and check out with option to choose your room.

Blue hat: management should embrace the staff to be creative when they have hard times and low occupancy and support them in hard times.

Moreover, the hats story is funny you should pick a company and then looking at the company it should make sense what you are doing. Instead you should have fun with the hats and then laugh to see how its done. Then talk to you husband and laugh about the fact that you are writing a hats project. Meanwhile the hats are of different colors and flavors.
