My major is Computer Animation a field that is becoming very popular in the art and film industry these days. In this essay I will talk about how some video games can be bad for a kid normal development because as an animator this theme concerns me a lot. The first time I talked to my group in the orientation day I asked them what they wanted to do as animators and all of them replied “action video games” they told me about their favorites video games (call of duty was one of them) and the coolest thing for them was explosions, guns and blood. Instead of this I want to create happy universes in movies, cartoons or video games but most of the animators think like my group and even I know they don’t do it in a bad way this could change a kid’s life because only seeing war, explosions, guns etc. could bring long term impact in their behavior. I plan proof how aggressive video games can be bad in many aspects of a children life and how parents and adults should take more responsibility in what they bought to their kids.

The video game market has transformed the “play game zone” radically, now even younger kids are exposed to more technology which brings more video games for the everyday of the child. You can find a lot of variety in video games, action, educative etc. but the famous ones are the more aggressive and one example can be “Call of duty” that is a first or third person shooter video game and that is now also a franchise.

Some people strongly believe that this video games have no or a minimal impact in kids because most of them are player and they have a normal life, but this does not says that they don’t bring long term impact in the children behavior and if this is a possibility parents should take more control and responsibility in what they bought to their kids to play.

Even some people say that these games are not harmful for kids; a lot of studies have shown that most of them become addicts to the games because they feel “power” playing. Also some kids while are playing don’t blink for long term periods and this triggers the release of dopamine that a some say that is “the master molecule of addiction” (Quitner)
