CULTURAL LITERACY AROUND THE WORLD

On September 17th this year was my most recent travel to United States of America, I have traveled before to different cities, I have lot of friends there and I enjoy a lot to visit new cities every time I go there.

This time I went to North Carolina, Virginia Beach, Washington D.C and New York, the opportunity to see a different country and culture is a great benefit in our lives, compare our culture and learn from another it’s amazing.

Even if we are not so different there is some cultural differences between us and them such as taking shower at night… we usually take shower when we wake up, mostly in the mornings before to go to school or work or just go outside to do some errands; They change pajamas and wear their clothes, clean the face and brush teeth and that’s it, that’s the reason because for me to get ready in the mornings took longer than them.

Another example it’s the breakfast, they don’t have Arepas like me being paisa have every morning for breakfast, instead this they have pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns which are potato toast; they eat this with ketchup… omg!! I was shocked, never tried eggs with ketchup before.

The way they drive is great! They respect the law and are very careful, everything has signs and it’s easy to drive there, they respect speed limits also, very different here where you can see people who doesn’t respect even the red lights.

The amount of food they serve is huge! Never get used to that big amount of food they serve… large portions there it’s like very hug, as we don’t have here.

Go to New York it’s like to find people from all over the world reunited in one city, so many ways to dress and so many languages to listen, so many colors and different cultures; everybody looks different but at the end we are just one kind… the human kind!

I loved the experience to know this culture and the reunion of different cultures in just one city and country.

I am eager to see another cities on United States and all over the world!!.
