DISCRIMINATION BY GENRE

Although women took over predominance of politics, economy, technology, there are few examples of women in positions of power.

But when we claim that women are not able to access to prominent positions it is said that it is attributed to the female involvement with their

Domestic obligations. Nothing more wrong.

Genre discrimination exists in all over the world, sometimes in subtle ways. We could mention that women are not equally paid as men, even when they both hold the same position. It exists in occidental and east societies. The worst of this wage discrimination on the basis of genre is that is universally adopted as a rule and, it is fair to say, silently accepted by women themselves. Men with less experience, including men that have been trained and/or supervised by women, receive the promotions that are Denied to their trainees only because of her genre conditions.

Most evidence discrimination is seen in certain countries of Africa where women are genitally mutilated, sexually abused, exploitated and trafficked. What is surprising is that discriminatory practices prevail in almost all countries of the world and it is astonishing that they are considered usual practices in current times.

Regretfully, despite of the world campaigns launched against genre discrimination, I am not too hopeful about the abolition of prejudices and atavic ways of submissiveness exerted on women. Primarily because in my opinion women, on one hand, demand Independence but on the other hand, assume certain attitudes that make men to think that the female sex
