Discussion Questions.

  1. Give some example of how the interest of different stakeholders groups may conflict.

  • Inside Stakeholders may be in conflicto with Outside Stakeholders when the services and products that the Inside Stakeholders (Managers, Workforce) provide to the Outside Stakeholders ( Customers ) have not good quality, the price can be very high and a few people can access to pay this products and services, so by this way theres a conflicto between de customers and the managers of a Company.

2.What is the role of the top Managers-Team?

  • Managers-Team are the highest level individuals of an organization and they have the responsabilities of managing the Company by them especific role.

3.What is the agency problem? What steps can be taken to solve it?

  • An Agency Problem is a conflict of interest where one part of the company is expected to act in another’s best interest.

The Steps followed to solve Agency Problems are the Governance Mechanism , a form of control to align the interest of principal and agent so both parties have the incentive to work together to maximize organizational effectiveness.

4.Why is it important for managers and organizations to behave ethically?

  • The Ethics are very important in an organization because the ethics helps organizations and managers to know how to make desitions and how this desitions are gonna affect the organization, the stock and even the customers and the earth with the correct use of raw material.

5. Ask a manager to describe and ethical behavior and an unethical behaviour that he observe. What caused this behaviors and what were the outcomes

  • Ethical Behavior: Morale.Ethical business managers enhance the good reputation of a company, which at the same time boosts the morale if its employees. The company reputation is very important, as well as the pride and morale of their employees. As an ethical business manager you need to taking actions that undermine this respect, and they take action to correct any inappropriate behavior of others.
  • Unethical Behavior: Being a employee of a Company  and steal money from under the table.
  • This ethic behaviour occurs beacuse of the importance that the workers give to the desitions they are making. The unethical behavior occurs beacuse of the money, how the money can affect the employees behavior because of how many money they can obtain.

6. Search an example of ethical and Unethical behavior and analyze it.

Case of analyze : Westland Hallmark, westland hallmark was a Company dedicated to the production and distribution of meat products , the Company was recognized at such point that prepare beef shipment to restaurants like Burguer King , Taco Bell. It was all this prestige that Westland/Hallmark sign a contract with the national school lunch program.

Everything look okay until nearly at the end of 2007 when humane society show a video where it can be see workers given inhuman tratmen to animals, but also sick animals entering to the food supply chain.

By 2008 the USDA (U.S Deparment of Agriculture) confirms that contaminated beef entered to the supply chain , in the middle of all the uproar the plant where shut down.

Our group think that the main reason is the ambition ,in the bad sense of the word, and the greed of the supervisors just for ensure sales of meat. This it’s so unethical at such point that they didn’t care about the health of those who’re possibly goint to eat that food.
