MY FAVOURITE BAND

Why I like Green Day

I like this band because they started when they were very young. They've composed for a long time since I have known them. I like their music because they feel what they sing. Their type of music has changed throughout time. Now they play rock. When I listen to them I feel excited and at the same time I feel relaxed.

Question: What is your favorite band?

About Green Day

There are four members; Billie Joe Armstrong’s the vocalist and the guitarist. Mike Dirnt plays the bass. Tré Cool plays the drums and Jason White the guitar and sings as backing vocalist. The group is from Oakland, California, but Billie and Mike are from Rodeo, California; Tré is from Frankfort, Germany and Jason White is from North Little Rock, Arkansas. At first they called themselves “Sweet Children” but they changed to “Green Day” when Billie wrote a song about smoking weed.

Question: What do you think about “Green Day”?

Their beginnings

They started in the 924 Gilman Street Club. I suppose that they became famous when they launched their album “1000 Hours” in 1989 in The USA. They won their first Grammy in 1995 for the album “Dookie” and they won the MTV Video Music Awards for “Time of Your Life” in 1998. My father likes them so I have listened to them since I was little.

Question: Have you ever listened to Green Day?

About his music

They have released eleven albums. The first album was in 1989. It was “1000 Hours” and the latest albums are a Trilogy, ¡Uno! ¡Dos! y ¡Tré! The first came out in 2012 and third will come out later this year in 2013. My favorite is album is “American Idiot” (2004) and my favorite song is “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” in the same album. I haven't been to any of their concerts because they haven't come to Spain.

Question: Have you ever gone to the concert of your favorite band?

Billie's life

Billie met Adrienne at a concert in 1990. In 1994 they moved in together and they were married two weeks later. After their honeymoon she discovered she was pregnant. They now have two sons Joey Marciano Armstrong and Jakob Danger Armstrong. They live in Oakland, Ohio. Billie has had drug problems and recently has been in a rehabilitation center.
