HOW THE ROLE OF WOMEN HAS CHANGED

“Women the power trough the time”

Throughout the time women have been recognized for the place that they were supposed to be in society. Depending on the country they were pointed, abused and humiliated due to men thought that women were inferior some years ago. Also because of the power that those people had at that time, for that reason they were treated as the people wanted to treat them and obviously the could not have the same rights that men used to have in that age.

In Colombia people live in a male chauvinist society, so men are still thinking that hierarchically they should be in a better place than women. That situation has been kept it for centuries but during the last 50 years it has changed dramatically because women have another lifestyle and they are recognized almost in the same way that men are. Furthermore that could be possible because some of them were against to the political system. In some places and in particular cities in Colombia people do everything usual as their old generations did. Those people keep certain generalisations like a cultural part of their life.

I have been witness of some of those changes because in my city Bogota people cannot have any preference for gender. Nowadays it is possible to see women working in the jobs that were only for men. In my opinion that changed is very positive and makes people think that all of us are equal at least everyone deserves the same rights.
