INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROJECT 3 (SECTION 1 AND 2):

SECTION 1:  EXPRESS YOUR LIKES, DISLIKES, DESIRES AND PREFERENCES.

Imagine that you are in a restaurant with a good friend. Write a conversation where you are talking about your and his or her likes, dislikes, desires and preferences.

You must write a least one sentence with each one of the following: 1) like + ing 2) don´t / doesn´t like + ing  3) enjoy + ing  4) hate + ing  5) like to  6) don´t / doesn´t like to  7) would you like?  8) do you like? 9) would prefer  10) prefer/prefers + ing  11) would rather  12) would rather not

Example:

John: Do you like pizza?        

Jennifer: No, I don´t like eating pizza, I would prefer to order spaghetti.

John: Would you like to order it with tomato sauce?

Jennifer: Yes, I like eating spaghetti with tomato sauce.

John, Ok, that is perfect.

Jennifer: What are we going to do later today?

John: We can go to the movies o to the mall.

Jennifer: I would rather to go to the movies than to the mall. I like to watch comedy movies.

John: Great, I hate going to the mall. I also enjoy watching comedy movies and I don´t like to watch science fiction movies.

Jennifer: Can we go just after luch, I would rather not to go to the movies at night, I prefer going to the movies during daytime.

SECTION 2:  RELATIVE CLAUSES

Look at the image, and write 6 sentences using relative clauses, 3 with defining relative clauses and 3 with non – defining relative clauses.

Here is an example for one of each one:

  1. The man who is wearing a suit is talking by cellphone.  (defininf
  2. Mr. Mark, who is wearing a suit, is talking by cellphone. (non defining.)
