What do you think about racism? or subcultures? Well, these both concepts have something in common. Why are subcultures so different and why they hate each other? Because they can't agree with their different ways of thinking and seeing life, then this has to do with discrimination. Racism is really involved into this. Blacks against whites. The most popular example of racism and subcultures. There are many stories about subcultures, all of them may be different but not all of them leave you a message.

American History X is a movie about a normal family, that suddenly changed completely in every sense. The father got killed by a "nigger" who was the leader of a gang. From that day on, Derek, one of his sons purchased a huge hate against black guys, he became the leader of a "skinheads" gang from Los Angeles. He was considered as the most important member and a role model for many people, but mainly for his little brother, Danny.

The hole situation started in one dinner the family was having with the mother's husband, this sir was defending Jewish and black people and Derek was against that. That same night, Derek's house was tried to be stolen by two black guys; Derek reacted as a maniac and he killed them in front of his brother. He got into prison for three years and here is where the movie gets interesting. Derek learns a lot about real people and real friends, he finally reacts over his mistakes and tries to change but circumstances don't let him do it so easily.

These movie has a lot of feelings and emotions involved, it lets us know about subcultures a little bit deeper. This movie tells us that a decision of a single family member affects the hole family itself. Subcultures are just some groups that just think of themselves and anything else, they don't even care what happens with the gang's members, they just care about what's right for them and hardly accept a different opinion.
