The Michael Jackson`s Biograph

Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29th, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was the seventh child of Joseph and Katherine Jackson. He began his musical career with his brothers at the age of 8 as the lead singer of The Jackson 5, formed in 1964.

In 1968, The Jackson 5 signed a contract with Motown and moved to California. The first four singles of The Jackson Five were "I Want You Back", "ABC"

The Jacksons had a number of hit records and in total made six albums between 1976 and 1984.

In 1977, Michael made his first film debut when he starred in the musical 'The Wiz' playing Scarecrow with Diana Ross in the lead role of Dorothy. It was at this time when Michael met Quincy Jones.

In 1979, Michael teamed up with Quincy Jones as his producer for his first solo album with Epic Records. The album titled "Off the Wall" was a great hit around the world.

In 1982, Michael Jackson released the biggest selling album in the world 'Thriller'. This album went on to sell over fifty millions of copies worldwide.

In 1983, Michael performed the now legendary moonwalk for the first time on the 'Motown 25 years' anniversary show.

In 1984, Michael won 8 Grammy awards for Thriller album and let The Jackson 5 to go solo. In 1986, Michael was diagnosed with vitiligo (a skin disorder characterized by unpigmented skin), and he began changing his body with several surgerie

In 1987, Michael released his third solo album, titled 'Bad' and in 1988, Michael wrote his first autobiography named Moonwalk, talking about his childhood and career. At the end of the 80´s, Michael was named as the “Artist of the Decade'”.

In 1991, Michael signed the largest ever recording contract with Sony Music and released his fourth solo album, 'Dangerous'.

In 1992, he toured around the world to countries never visited by a pop artist, and Michael founded the 'Heal the World Foundation' to help poor children around the world.

In 1994, Michael married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley. The marriage lasted for 19 months because they divorced in 1996.

In 1995, Michael released a fifth album, 'History'. Michael made another world tour.

In 1996, Michael married Debbie Rowe, who was the nurse that took care of Michael during his treatment of vitiligo. They had two kids, Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., born in 1997 and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson born in 1998.
