He was born in Huanuco on January 13, 1871. His parents were Mr. Marcial Alomía and Mrs. Micaela Robles. Since childhood he had a very fine ear that reproduced everything he heard. When he was 16, the black musician Manuel de la Cruz Panizo offered to teach him music in exchange for singing in church. The teacher taught him solfège at night.

Later he contacted Claudio Rebagliatti who offered to teach him music in exchange for helping him in concerts. He studied medicine by imposition of his parents. When they were in their third year they traveled with other students to the jungle, where they met Gabriel Salas, who exerted a decisive influence on their life in the field of music. For a short time he was sub-prefect and justice of the peace in Jauja; He was also mayor of the city of Huacho. In 1913 he presented the Zarzuela "el cóndor pasa".

In 1919 he traveled to the U.S. There he gave concerts, lectures, recorded records, until 1933. In 1935 he returned to Peru and after visiting his homeland, he died on July 17, 1942 in Lima.

The commission for the return of the remains of Daniel Alomía Robles transferred his remains to Huanuco after more than a year of management, on January 14, 1996, by air arrived in this city and was received apotheosically by a human sea that formed cords from Las Moras to the Plaza de Armas.
