Flores en el ático es una novela escrita por V.C. Andrews quien nació en 1918 y murió en 1986.

Esta novela fue publicada en 1979 y trata sobre Catherine Dollanganger quien cuenta la historia de su encierro y el de sus hermanos, Christopher y los gemelos Cory y Carrie en un ático.

Cathy nos presenta la vida feliz que solía tener con su familia antes de que su padre falleciera en un accidente. A partir de allí, todo da un giro.

La familia de Cathy tiene que mudarse, a la casa de la abuela. Pues la situación económica se complica.

Al llegar a la mansión Foxworth Hall, propiedad de sus abuelos, en el estado de Virginia, en donde la abuela, una mujer de acero y con gran arraigo religioso; los limita a vivir en un ático con el propósito de no arruinar la reputación de la familia. Lo que eran unos días dentro de aquel lugar, se convirtió en semanas y meses.

Es un libro que aborda un tema controversial como lo es el incesto entre Christopher, el hermano mayor y Cathy; donde estos actúan como la figura paterna y materna de los gemelos Carrie y Cory.

Flores en el ático es donde las acciones antiéticas de la abuela y la madre son evidenciadas por Chris y Cathy quienes tratan de salir con vida del ático. La muerte repentina de uno de los gemelos pone fin a su ingenuidad, de que su madre tenga aún cariño y aprecio por ellos y eso los alentará a planear el escape de esa desafortunada vida que los marcará para siempre.

This novel was published in 1979 and it´s about Catherine Dollanganger who tells the history of his confinement and that of his brothers, Christopher and the twins Carrie and Cory at atic.

Cathy presents us the happy life she used to have with his family before than his father died in a accident. From there everything took a turn.

The family of Cathy had to move to his grandmother´s house. Because the economic situation was complicated.

Upon arrived Foxworth Hall mansion, property of his grandparents, in the state of Virginia, when the grandmother it´s a steel woman with great religious roots; she limited them to live at the atic with the purpose of not ruining family reputation. What were a few days inside that place, he became weeks and months.

It´s a book what tackles a controversial topic as incest between Christopher, the older brother and Cathy; where they act as father figure and mother figure of the twins Carrie and Cory.

Flowers in the atic is where the actions anti-ethics of the grandmother and mother are evidenced by Chris and Cathy who try to went go with life of the atic. The sudden death of one of the twins puts an end his naivety, that his mother loved them, that will encourage to plan the escape of that unlucky life that them marked forever.
