In general, call Aztecs to the inhabitants of the territories conquered by Hernán courts, applying it, therefore, the term not only to the Aztecs themselves but also to Mexicans.

The Aztecs founded Mexico City, where they settled.

Aztec culture is characterized for being good in the Administration, in fact, they based the division of its territory in 38 provinces tax and their social organization was a pyramidal stratification.

At the top of this pyramid were the Nobles and priests. After these, they were merchants and warriors. Finally, at the base of the pyramid, the tenants were and then the slaves.

The main crops that the Aztecs practiced were corn, fruit, tobacco and the chiles.

The Aztecs spoke a language called Nahuatl. Writing mixed pictograms, ideograms and phonetic signs. In his writings reflected his own history, geography, economy, religion, etc.

In Aztec society, the Emperor had unlimited power, encompassing all things and all people. Next to him, warriors and priests were among the social group of greater power. The warriors were the main support of the Emperor and allowed the creation of an empire very powerful but isolated politically.

Most of the population were artisans, farmers, civil servants, etc., that were organized into kinship groups called calpulli.
