king Midas and the golden touch

sometimes when a wish comes true, the results can surprise you.

once upon a time there was a very rich king named midas. he lived in a fine castle with his daughter, Marygold. the two things he loved best into his treasure room and count his coins. no one even Marygold, was allowed into the king´s treasure room.

one day Midas was sitting in the treasure room dreaming about his gold. In his dream, he saw a shadow fall across the piles of valuable gold coins. he looked up and saw a tranger standing near him. since no one was surprised the stranger looked kind, however, so Midas wasnt afraid. he greeted the man, and they began to talk of gold. "you certainly have a lot of gold", said the stranger.

"its not so much", said Midas.

the stranger smiled. "do you want even more gold than this?" he asked.

"if i had my way, everything i touched would turn into gold", Midas replied.

the strangers smile grew wider. "so you want the gold touch? very well, a will give it to you. at sunrise  tomorrow, you will be able to turn anything  you touch into gold".

midas was so exited that he could hardly wait until morning. at last the sun rose, still dreaming, midas sat up and reacher for the water jug by his bed. at once it became gold. midas was so overjoyed, he got up and danced around the room, touching everything within his reach. soon he had a room full ofgleaming gold objects. when he reaches for his clothes, they turned into heavy gold cloth. "now i shall really look like a king", he said. he got dressed and admired himself inthe mirror. midas was impressed by his golden clothes, though they were so heavy he could hardly move.

his looking glass was more of a problem. he tried to use it to see his new treasures better. to his surprise, he could not see anything through it. he put it on the table and found that it was now gold, but midas was too exited to worry. he said," i can see well enough without it. besides, it is much more valuable now"

midas went down to his rose garden. there, he touched resebush. soon, one whole corner of the garden was filled with golden roses. their briht petals reflected the sun, and their stemms had become thin gold wires. even the thorned into gold, midas was completely happy.

rey Midas y el toque de oro

a veces, cuando se hace realidad un deseo, los resultados pueden sorprender.

érase una vez hubo una muy rica rey midas con nombre. vivía en un castillo fino con su hija, Marygold. las dos cosas que más le gustaba a su cuarto del tesoro y cuentan sus monedas. nadie ni siquiera Marygold, se le permitió a la sala del Rey tesoro.

un solo día Midas estaba sentado en la sala del tesoro soñando con su oro. En su sueño, vio una caída sombra a través de los montones de monedas de oro valiosos. alzó la vista y vio a un Tranger de pie cerca de él. ya que nadie se sorprendió al desconocido parecía un poco, sin embargo, por lo que no era miedo Midas. saludó al hombre, y comenzaron a hablar de oro. "Que sin duda tiene un montón de oro", dijo el desconocido.

"No es tanto", dijo Midas.

el desconocido sonrió. "¿Quieres aún más el oro que esto?" preguntó.

"Si fuera por mí, todo lo que toca se convertiría en oro", respondió Midas.

los extraños sonrisa se hizo más amplia. "Por lo que desea el toque de oro? Muy bien, un dará a usted. Al amanecer de mañana, usted será capaz de convertir todo lo que toca en oro".

midas por lo que se salió de que apenas podía esperar hasta la mañana. Por fin salió el sol, aún soñando, midas se incorporó y alcanzador de la jarra de agua junto a su cama. a la vez se convirtió en oro. midas era tan feliz, se levantó y bailó alrededor de la habitación, todo lo que toca a su alcance. pronto que tenía una habitación llena ofgleaming objetos de oro. cuando llega a su ropa, se convirtieron en el paño de oro macizo. "Ahora voy a mirar realmente como un rey", dijo. Se vistió y admiró a sí mismo enel espejo. midas estaba impresionado por sus vestidos de oro, a pesar de que eran tan pesadas que apenas podía moverse.

su espejo era más de un problema. trató de usarlo para ver sus nuevos tesoros mejor. para su sorpresa, no podía ver nada a través de él. lo puso en la mesa y se encontró que era ahora el oro, pero fue demasiado midas salió a preocuparse. dijo, "puedo ver lo suficientemente bien sin él. Además, es mucho más valioso ahora"

midas descendió a su jardín de rosas. allí, tocó resebush. Pronto, toda una esquina del jardín estaba lleno de rosas de oro. sus pétalos briht reflejan el sol, y sus stemms se habían convertido en hilos de oro fino. incluso el thorned en oro, midas fue completamente feliz.

after some time had passe, Midas realized thar he was hugry. he went into the dining room to get his breakfast. there was bread, milk, and a tasty cooked fish on the table. two places had been set, one for midas and one for myragold midas sat down and waited for his little daugther. he was eager to show er his new power.

when myragold arrived, midas was surprised to see that she was crying." why are you sad on such a wonderful morning?" he asked.

marygold held up a gold rose. " look at what has happened to the flowers in our lovely garden", she said "our roses have no smell anymore. their petals have become hard, wuth sharp edges, and they have such an ugly color¡"

midas was to ashamed to tell marygold how the roses had become hard and golden. so he just said, "now, now, marygold, everything will be all rigth."

marygold sat down, but she didnt cheer up. she was so upset that she didnt notice what was going on at the table. midas was having a lot of trouble with his breakfast. when he took a piece of bread, it turned into a gold lump in his hand. the fish became a beautiful, but use lees, golden hardened into metal when his lips touched it. "if this goes on, ill never be able to eat again", said poor midas.
