ELS PRONONMS RELATIUS (QUE): THAT / WHO / WHICH/ WHERE:

THAT: PERSONES / OBJECTES

WHO: PERSONES

WHICH: OBJECTES

WHERE: PLACES

EXAMPLES:

La noia (person) que...

The girl who/that...

El llibre (object) que...

The book which/that..

La botiga on compro la roba.

The shop where I buy my clothes.

QUAN ES PODEN OMETRE WHO / WHICH / THAT?:

Aquests tres pronoms es poden ometre quan no són el subjecte de la frase. (Només cal fixar-se si entre el pronom i el verb hi ha un subjecte). Si hi ha subjecte, si es vol, es pot ometre el pronom relatiu.

EXAMPLES (Els subjectes estan subratllats).

1. The book (which/that) I like. (Es pot ometre perquè no és el subjecte)

2. The girl who/that works in the restaurant.(No es pot ometre ja que és el subjecte de l'oració)
