Multicultural Arts Website Evaluation and Annotated Bibliography

The subject of the present website evaluation is Fauvism – a movement in art that was spread in the early twentieth century, known for its vivid colors and little attention to reality of the depicted subject matters. Even though the modernist movements in art are rather diverse, Fauvism is distinguished through a bright palette and bold brushstrokes. The websites selected for the annotated bibliography have been found through a search engine, using a simple keyword “fauvism,” without distinguishing any particular directions or artists within the movement.

The first website is the one of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, offering a great article about Fauvism as a movement in painting and phenomenon in art of the early years of the twentieth century, which was a predecessor and a great inspiration for such later movements as of Expressionism and Cubism.
