Iron Man, an American example

Tony Stark is a millionaire genius who designed advanced and complex devices, especially advanced weapons and armor, for the American government. During his travels around the world, he was captured by his enemies to make a weapon against Americans. But, instead of designing a weapon for them, he build an armor to scape, and in the captivity, Tony changed his outlook of life to see with their own eyes what his inventions can do. Now, he uses all skills and resources at his disposal to create the armor that protects the world and makes the world a better place, Tony Stark creates Iron Man. Therefore, Iron Man represents the American values of personal control over the environment and competition.

First, Iron Man represents the American value’s personal control over the environment. The personal control over the environment is the ability to control everything that is around to. The Americans consider normal and right that men control the nature and the environment because they refused to accept that something has limits. They seem to be challenged, even compelled, to do what other people cannot be done (Kohls, Robert). In this case, to Iron Man all is possible. For example, in the first film, he managed to design a solid armor from the union of gold and titanium, using nature. Other example is in second film, because Tony managed to create a new chemical element, clearly controlling his environment and doing everything possible. In fact, control over the largest possible amount of resources is important to Iron Man because in his efforts to improve the world, he needs full control of the elements that will help you for this purpose, he needs make himself the best hero of the world

On the other hand, Iron Man represents the American value’s competition. According to Kohls, the competition is to obtain the best results than others. Americans believe that competition brings out the best in an individual. They assert that it forces each person to produce the very best possible. Moreover, Americans feel very strongly that a highly competitive economy will bring out the best in its people and ultimately, that the society which fosters competition will progress most rapidly (Kohls, Robert). For Iron Man, the competition is necessary to be at the forefront of technology, since the way in which he manages to protect the world from other technology that can be designed against humanity. In the movies we see as Iron Man has to constantly improve his armor as he goes on his scientific research to defend attempts of others. For instance, in Iron Man II, Justin Hammer is the largest supplier of weapons from the United States after the cancellation of the military section of Stark Industries and he wants to create armor as Iron Man but they are controlled by computer. However, Tony is able to improve the idea to create “The Iron Legion”, controlled by the computer program Jarvis, to protect the world from any situation.
