Electoral body director: "The ballot is secret, vote with confidence"

Venezuela's National Electoral Council (CNE) director Vicente Díaz underscored that ballot was secret, so he made an appeal to Venezuelans to not let "electoral scoundrels" to scare them. "Do not let them scare you because the ballot is secret. Vote with confidence and liberty because, first, your vote will count, second, it will be anonymous, and third, it will reflect the results you want for the country," he stated on Wednesday at the show "Entre Periodistas" (Among journalists) aired on local TV channel Televen. Moreover, he offered further details regarding the audits that have been performed to the electoral system, including voting rolls, and the voting machines' software. He highlighted that so far audits have been successful and that all the revision procedures have been approved by high-level technicians from the CNE, and from both government and opposition blocs, so he confirmed that the electoral system "would accurately show the will of the electorate." He added that most voting machines have been distributed to all the states and that transmission media would be examined soon.
