According to my observation , the errors that commonly have teenagers wanting to learn English are 4 and the most important.

1. Pronunciation problems

Two . Vocabulary Problems

Three . Grammar Problems

April . Spelling and punctuation problems

The high school teenagers who want to learn English, often have problems with pronunciation due to differences between the sound systems of the two languages . English has 12 vowels and 8 diphthongs , while Spanish has only 5 of each one . Therefore, Spanish speakers sometimes have trouble distinguishing between words like " beat ( beat) " and " bit ( bit, piece ) " . Also confuse the consonants " v " and " b " and " s " as in " Sue " , with the sound of " z" in "zoo (zoo ) " . Since the Spanish have an "e" before the " s " at the beginning of the word , it is also difficult for Spanish speakers pronounce the " s initial" often add the sound of the "e" , so that " stock (reserve) " pronounce it " stockstock " . The Spanish rhythm syllables gives equal duration , while English is given more time to stressed syllables . The same rate in English some Spanish speakers can make them more difficult to understand .

Another problem observed was the problem and lack of vocabulary. There are a number of similar words in Spanish and English has both advantages and disadvantages. Many false cognates confuse the student. These pairs sound alike but have different meanings. Some of these false cognates in English and Spanish include " assist ( help ) " and "attend" , " college ( university, college ) " and "college" , "exit (exit ) " and " success " and "library ( library) " and" library " . In addition, components Germanic English as phrasal verbs ( phrasal verbs ) as " look for ( search ) " sometimes are more difficult for Spanish speakers to the vocabulary derived from Latin or French .

Moreover grammar issues are also very important and something in which high school students have many errors . The grammar of English is particularly confusing for speakers of Spanish . This is because the Spanish verb endings has more than English , a complete sentence in Spanish does not always need a subject. Because of this , Spanish speakers often omit subject pronouns in their English sentences . They tend to copy the order of words in Spanish , based on the order of the structure of English : subject-verb- object. The formation of negatives and questions with "do ( auxiliary verb ) " presents problems because in Spanish negations and questions do not require auxiliary verbs. Spanish speakers sometimes have problems with the correct use of the gender of possessive adjectives for the third person singular , as the Spanish can use " his" to "her (her) " , "his ( to him) " or "its ( of it ) " .

And finally also note that it is a very important problem , the spelling and punctuation. And on this I see that: Those who speak Spanish have trouble with spelling in English, because they use a more phonetic . The different ways of writing the same sound in English can cause problems , as in the words "tough (hard) " and " fluff ( lint ) " . The large number of vowel sounds and diphthongs also difficult. Spanish native speakers sometimes simplify the groups of two or three consonants in English and confused when it should write one or two letters . They sometimes put exclamation points or question marks at the beginning and at the end of sentences written . They also frequently use the comma to connect independent clauses , which results in abuse of the comma .
