Despite the bad example and being forced to steal etc, Oliver always wanted to act properly because his moral structure was already formed and is very difficult to change it. For the children who steal, they have the image of a "leader" or a father to the children, a role model is good or bad, for them they are not doing anything bad because they are used to steal and behave that way. Is something normal for them, their moral structure was already formed and thanks to Fagin, the children just lived, don&rsquo;t care about anything, only robbery and heeding their leader Fagin without thinking of the consequences or the rejection of the society.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:2.4;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent: 36pt;text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">Oliver despite living in unfavorable environments always had the moral intact. He's a very good boy who lived reality not living that way he was going to behave badly he wanted to stand out and be different from all children. Only once he acted aggressively but it was to defend his mother thus acted in a good way because he defended his mother, who is sacred to him. Oliver is a very grateful child, he is very thankful to Mr. Brownlow for being so good to him also with Fagin he is very grateful.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:2.4;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;margin-left: 36pt;"><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">&ldquo;The house to which Oliver had been conveyed was in the neighbourhood of </span><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">Whitechapel. The jew stopped for an instant at the corner of the street, and, glancing suspiciously round, crossed the road and struck off in the direction of Spitalfields&rdquo; (Dickens 149).</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:2.4;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">This quote shows how Oliver is forced by Fagin and Sikes to commit robbery even though he totally refuses to do it. This demonstrates that Twist is a child with good intentions and does not follows a wrong path just because of the influence that Fagin has over him. Fagin would like that Oliver does what the gang of thieves do. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:2.4;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent: 36pt;text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">Children observe other patterns either to avoid punishment or to obtain rewards. In the novel, you can see how Oliver follows the rules because of the fear of the punishment he can get, such as when the orphanage gives orders and he had to follow them, or when he worked for a family who mistreated him and he just continues being obedient because he does not want to receive more punishments. Children. now, want to please others. Still, they observe other&rsquo;s patterns and they internalize things. Now, they want to be considered "good" by people whose opinion matters to others. I can say that when Oliver escapes to London and meets Jack Dawkins, who approaches Oliver to talk and founds it interesting and decides to integrate him on his band of thieves and makes every effort to please and behaves in a good way with Oliver.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:2.4;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent: 36pt;text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:27px;font-family:'Times New Roman';color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;">Justice is another example of an important theme in this novel.
