The Epic Heroes

Every moment and every second, is time; every person and every soul, is the one; all that, makes history. To make history has always been leave a mark in the past, a firm left and frozen by the time, the memory that was marked by some extraordinary fact, unusual, uncommon. Imagine that it could be you who make history and be remembered by everyone as something and you as someone, because for us that is history, and that's the difference between another panel of special people. This group of people has a deeper sense of trace, is not just to be remembered in history as someone, but to be remembered by everyone as a legend, epic heroes.

The epic tales can be based on real or imaginary events, always around a Hero and remembering the beliefs of the culture or the time in which they are written. The narration is done in past; the narrator may appear in the work or not (It is not always present, as in Lyrical, and it doesn’t go away completely, as in Drama). A good example for an epic tale is the epic Anglo – Saxon poem “Beowulf”, where every event is focus on this hero, named Beowulf, it shows in the course of the legend how he is considered a demigod, aided by the powers of God, he fought and survived many battles.

An epic hero was a human with special features, had incredible strength, and was confident, sincere, believer, wise, fast, polite and above all, loyal. Has a specific goal or ideal and must pass a series of obstacles to achieve it, whatever happens, he would give his life to defend his people and leave his name on high, for example Beowulf, he first fought for the peace of Herot against Grendel, a monster who scared the entire population, and won. Another fight where Beowulf gives his all and fight to the death, was against Grendel's mother, where he fought alone and with the disadvantage of the place of battle and despite that, he got the victory. At the end of the epic poem, Beowulf fights a dragon, giving his all again, trying to control it by himself, but this time death managed to win, so then appears a new Hero named Wiglaf, who fought the dragon and became the most loyal warrior.

For the Anglo – Saxon (English) epic, the characteristics of going on a journey and risking death for the glory and for the greater good of society. Beowulf has the extraordinary strength and reflects the highest ideas of his culture, the Anglo-Saxon culture of ancient England. The belief in a God helps to recognize or decipher a little more the characteristics of an epic hero at the Anglo – Saxon time.

Within this topic in depth, I can finally say that Epics heroes are extraordinary men able to achieve all its goals in the way to help humanity or destroy it in the attempt to leave it’s name on high.
