The Knight's tale

Tale tells the story of a pair of knights in a never-ending fight for the love of his lady who know during their confinement which are destined under the orders of the brother-in-law of the damsel. One of the knights (Arcite), with the help of a friend, is released under the condition of not returning, if he does, will suffer the death penalty. While the other knights (Palamon) suffers from her confinement, later manages to escape. Spent some time they have a meeting, which is stopped by Teseo, who was brother-in-law of the young lady whose name was Emilia.

Theseus proposes a battle in which the winner will be the owner of his sister-in-law’ s heart. For battle they must meet a hundred knights willing to fight hand to hand in their fight. Teseo orders to build an enclosure with extreme elegance.

Days before the battle, Emilia, Arcite and Palamon make requests to Diana, Marte, and Venus, respectively. The day of the battle arrives, is a great fighting. The winner turns out to be Arcite, but the end is his days would come along with his victory, because of an accident at the site of the battle, he dies. It clarifies that if Emilia wants to marry again, takes into account to Palamon. Finally Emilia and Palamon are married, living full of wealth, health, happiness and above all love.

• If I like the tale: I don’t like to much romantic tales, i prefer another kinds of tales. But, being honest, I got fun because of the request of Emilia, Arcite and Palamon, specially with Emilia who wants to preserve her virginity, it was so fun.

• The tale makes me feel sometimes bored, it has a lot of descriptions (maybe it has to be like that).

• Who would I recommend this tale to? Well, maybe to Sarahí, because she likes this kind of tales, but I know that she doesn’t like to read a lot, so it would be a problem.
